I am Emily Doyle, a Canadian photographer who uses film photography as my preferred medium. My work often features my twin sister, Abigail Doyle, as a muse, exploring themes of identity, connection, and the complexities of emotional landscapes. Through my art, I express my innermost feelings, translating personal experiences and introspections into visual narratives.
The grotesque and melancholic inspire me the most; in my work, I don’t believe in the rules of photography or what is considered a “good” image. I believe that what stands out is the right choice, whether it is unpleasant or out of focus. I aim to make art only to please myself and want to further my perspective by creating a path that avoids convention.
